TAC is delighted to welcome a new member to our team. Sanya Verma is joining us as a summer intern, and will be assisting Max, Ray and Nathan with many duties around the office, while learning more about accounting, consulting and bookkeeping. She began her internship earlier this month and will work until mid-August, when she returns to college.
Sanya is currently a rising junior at Virginia Tech, where she is pursuing a double major in Accounting and Business Information Technology, with a concentration in Operational Supply Chain Management. She is on pace to graduate in the spring of 2023, and is taking two classes at Northern Virginia Community College this summer, in addition to working Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at TAC.
As a summer intern, Sanya is exploring many sides of TAC’s business, including assisting the staff with sending invoices, job costing and recording transactions. She is also learning how to file taxes and write-up financial reports, while learning basic bookkeeping and assisting with general consulting duties.
Sanya is a 2019 graduate of Broad Run High School in Ashburn, VA and is living in Ashburn for the summer with her family. She grew up in Herndon and Ashburn and enjoys working out, binge watching Netflix and spending time with her family and friends.
This last school year was a challenging one for Sanya, as she spent it in Blacksburg at Virginia Tech – however, all of her classes were completed virtually in her apartment. While the year was fairly “low-key,” in that she could learn at home and study often with roommates and friends, she found that staying focused while learning virtually for huge swaths of time was extremely challenging. She very much looks forward the fall, when in-person classes and “normal” campus life will resume.
So far, Sanya is thoroughly enjoying her work at TAC and all that she is learning. Her future goals include completing her junior year at Tech and landing an internship in operational supply chain management for next summer – there by exploring that side of her double major.
